THE MAIN TELEPHONE OPERATORS IN MADAGASCAR

Communicating is becoming easier and easier in Madagascar. Which GSM operator to choose? Orange, Telma, Airtel and Bip are the operators used in the country. Among the services offered by these operators, there is the transfer of credit. Prepaid plans allow you to benefit from calls and sms at a lower cost in Madagascar and abroad.

You can also connect to the Internet. You can get a SIM card and credit in the dedicated shops or on the streets via street vendors. Credit cards for the 4 operators cost between 1000 and 30.000 Ar.

WHICH OPERATOR TO CHOOSE FOR MOBILE PHONE

Choosing a telephone operator in Madagascar for mobile telephony is quite simple because all offer more or less equivalent services. The two main operators Telma and Orange are the most used but Blueline can be a good alternative as soon as you leave the capital. Orange usually offers the fastest internet connection of the three mobile operators in Tana but is also the most expensive. On the other hand, when you leave the city, Telma regularly offers better coverage in rural or coastal areas.

With Blueline, side advantages, you do not need a telephone line, the speed remains correct, Internet is easy to install, rates are cheaper than the competition and the after-sales service is satisfactory. For the disadvantages, we can point out a random connection speed, a price that continues to increase, a different connection quality depending on where you are and the difficulty of downloading large files with entry-level 4G.

Orange offers 3G, 4G. These offers are not limited. For 50 GB per month, it takes 239 500 Ar. The best advantage of Orange is its stability and it is therefore possible to download large files. This provider can therefore be considered a safe bet of the Internet in Madagascar.

Telma offers 3G/4G on USB sticks or on your smartphone, ADSL and fiber optics. Regarding 3G/4G, the speed increases to 1mega, but the network coverage is too light, because even in Antananarivo, some areas in the city center are not covered. On the financial side, for 100 Ar, we have 10 MB or 5 GB for 75,000 Ar for 30 days. ADSL works well if you are close to a dispatcher, but you can be hacked. The price is 199,000 Ar per month.
